Dr Shah Awang


Dr Awang has a number of years experience working in General Practice, Skin and Medical Cosmetics.

His clinical interests include skin cancer checks and management, acne and scarring management, treatments for ant-wrinkles, crows feet, lip enhancements, Dermal Fillers and Frown lines.

He has a Diploma in Dermatology and a Certificate of Dermoscopy and Skin Cancer.
Dr Awang works at both our Mernda Village Medical Centre and Laurimar Medical Centre.

Dr Richard Bennett

MB BS BSC NMRCGP(2009) FRACGP


Dr Bennett attended the Cathedral School in Norwich, England before attending Imperial College in London.

He qualified in 2003 and did his junior doctor jobs in and around London, before returning to Norwich to train as a GP. He had his own practice in Norwich from 2009 to 2014, but decided it was time for a fresh challenge.

Richard is particularly interested in problems affecting the ears, nose & throat and also performs a variety of joint injections, injections for carpal tunnel syndrome, and ingrowing toenail excisions.

Dr Aifric Boylan

MBBS, MRCGP (IRE), FRACGP (AUS)


Dr Aifric Boylan was born in Ireland and studied College Dublin. She graduated in 2003, and after several years in hospital-based medicine she went on to specialise in General Practice.

She has been working full time as a GP in the Dublin area for the past 4 years. She enjoys the wide range of specialities that General Practices encompasses, and has a particular interest in paediatrics and women’s health. She is married with two children, and relocated with her family to Australia in July 2014.

Dr Fouad Israel

General Practitioner


Dr Israel qualified as a Doctor in 1997 in Egypt and worked as a GP for 4 years. After this, obtained a masters degree in paediatrics and neonatology in 2004. After moving to Australia, I started working as a GP in Australia in 2009, completing a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of GPs. Areas of interest include paediatrics, procedures, chronic disease management and helping patients with mental health problems.

Dr Shilpa Mane

MBBS, MRCGP (UK), FRACGP (AUS), DRCOG (UK), DCH


Dr Mane is committed to providing a high level of health care to her patients.
She has completed her GP training from the UK. She relocated to Australia in 2009 from the UK.

In addition, she holds a post graduate diploma in Paediatrics and a diploma of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

She enjoys all aspects of general practice with special interest in Women’s Health, Child Health and management of Chronic conditions.

She also offers Maternity Shared Care with Mercy hospital, Royal Women’s Hospital and Northern Hospital

Dr Davinder Nagah

MBBS MRCGP(UK) FRACGP


Dr Nagah was born and raised in London and graduated from Imperial College School of Science Technology and Medicine in 2002.

He went on to gain extensive experience in Emergency Medicine and ENT prior to completing training as a General Practitioner in 2009.

Current interests include all aspects of Chronic Disease management and child health surveillance.

Dr Wengtak Poon

MBBS (UK), MRCGP (UK), FRACGP (AUS), DRCOG (UK)


Dr Poon was born in Scotland and studied medicine at Edinburgh University. He qualified and practiced as a GP in England and obtained a post graduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, before moving to Australia in 2012. His clinical interests include chronic disease management, child health and mental health.

Dr Mirenda Shakya

MBBS, MRCGP (2009, UK), FRACGP (AUS) , DFSRH (2014)


Dr Shakya graduated in 2002. She completed her post graduation to specialise as a GP in the UK. She had been working as a GP for 6 years in the UK before moving to Melbourne. She has special interest in women’s health, child health, chronic disease management including diabetes, asthma, copd, hypertension, heart disease and mental health. Outside work, she enjoys song writing, reading and spending time with family.

Dr Su-Yen Tan

MBChB, MRCGP, FRACGP, DRCOG DFFP DTMH BSc(Hons)


General Practitioner / Reproductive Health

Dr Tan qualified as a doctor in the UK in 1996. She is a recognised GP specialist in the USA, the UK and Australia. She is passionate about providing high quality medical care and keeping up with current best practice. She is an examiner for the Royal Australian College of GPs and the University of Melbourne. At Laurimar she teaches medical students and trainee GPs. Prior to moving to Melbourne in 2013, she was clinical director of a medical centre in London and was extensively involved in postgraduate medical education and training.

In addition to the full scope of General Practice, she offers maternity shared care andIUD/Implanon fitting for contraception. She also offers anti-wrinkle injections and has a keen interest in Travel Medicine.

Outside of work she very much enjoys Yoga, tennis and spending time with the family.

The members of our support team are seldom seen but always busy. It is they who manage the logistics and day-to-day operations of a general practice this size.
