What we offer
We hope your first visit to our practice will lead to a relationship of many years where you develop a strong bond with your GP and the nursing and receptionist staff who care for you and your family.
Our practice serves the local community, keeping you healthy by appropriate medical treatment when needed and sharing advice on how to maintain good health and prevent illness whenever possible.
As a teaching practice we often host registrars and students, they’re fully supported by our experienced staff and are always full of enthusiasm and eagerness to excel at general practice.
Please phone 9216 2400 for an appointment. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and GP. Emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforeseen delay or your GP has been called away. Longer consultation times are available, so please ask our receptionists if you require some extra time, for example when consulting for multiple problems or completing forms. Please let us know this when you book the appointment.
All accounts must be settled immediately.
Workcover/TAC: The practice will charge the recommended fees, and you can use your invoice to reclaim the funds from the relevant authority.
Other charges may apply e.g. all procedures are charged privately. If you have had a procedure elsewhere, and choose to have follow up at Laurimar Medical, aftercare charges may apply. Please ask reception for more details.
Travel health consultations when travel is intended for business or work purposes, incur private fees, even for pensioners and children. Please inform the reception before or at the time of appointment whether your consultation is for purposes of travel health.
Documents and Forms
Completing of documents and forms may incur extra charges depending on the service provided.
Ample parking is available. There is easy wheelchair access and no steps or stairs. Wheelchairs are available at reception.
During weekdays we do home visits for REGISTERED patients in the local area if absolutely necessary. These situations should not be confused with emergency situations in which you may need to call an ambulance to attend a hospital.
Where possible we ask that you ring before 10.00 a.m. to arrange home visits. Sometimes demand for this service will exceed our ability to respond and you may be asked whether you would like a locum visit arranged. A private fee is charged for all visits, please telephone to ascertain our current fee.
From time to time, this practice invites patients to complete a questionnaire on their views of the practice and suggested improvements.
These surveys are completely confidential and help us to maintain a high standard of service.
Patients will be asked to phone the practice 3 working days following the tests, between the hours of 2.00pm and 5.00 pm.
In the interests of best practice and privacy, and unless otherwise advised, you should book an appointment one week after any investigations/tests have been performed. It is your responsibility to book this follow up appointment to get your results.
Our practice is committed to preventative care. We will automatically include you on our reminder system. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let your doctor or receptionist know.
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain the security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorized members of staff. We abide by the 10 national Privacy Principles available at www.privacy.gov.au/health/index.html
